Palemonids

Palemonids was a legendary dynasty of Grand Princes of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Ruthenia that reigned from the 10th to the 14th century.

1st generation
Palemon, born Publius Libonus, (Палемон, Паламон, Палямон, Apolon, Palemonas; 10th century), a Prince of Venice and a successor of Caesar Nero, who came from Venice to Ruthenia. According to a fake genealogy in the 16th century Bychowiec Chronicle, he was the forefather of Palemonids and Gediminids. Palemon is not mentioned in any earlier sources.

2nd generation
Palemon had three sons:

Kunos (? – 1040), prince and founder of Kaunas, Jurbarkas (Jurbork, Jurgenburg), Zawelsk.
Bork, Prince of Jurbarkas.
Spera

3rd generation
Kunos had two sons:

Gimbut (Kgwinπbunt, Кгвинъбунт, Гимбут, Гимбрутус), Prince of Jurbarkas, Kaunas, Grand Prince of Samogitia. He had a daughter who married a ruler of Deltuva.
Kernius (Кернус, Кернос), Prince of Kernavė, Zawelsk, (founder of) Druck, Grand Prince of Lithuania and Samogitia, founder of Lithuania and Kernavė.

4th generation
Gimbut had two sons:

Montvilas (Montwil, Монтвил, ? – 1070), Grand Prince of Samogitia.
Kukovaitis (Kukovoyt, Куковойт, Ковойт; ca. 1020–1069), Grand Prince of Lithuania and Samogitia.

5th generation
Montvilas had two sons, they are both historical figures mixed into legends:

Erdvilas (Erdywił, Ердивил, Erdiwił, Erdwil, ? – 1089), Prince of Navahradak, Hrodna, Brest (Brest-Litovsk), Drohiczyn, Mielnik.
Vykintas (Wikinth), Grand Prince of Samogitia.

6th generation
Erdvilas had one son:

Mingayl (? – 1192), Prince of Polock, Navahradak (after 1185–1192), Hrodna.

7th generation
Mingayl had two sons:

Skirmunt (12th century – 13th century), Prince of Navahradak (1192 – before 1239), Kernavė, Berestia, Mielnik, Hrodna, Pinsk, Turaŭ, Mazyr, Chernihiv, Starodub, Karachev, Grand Prince of Lithuania. In 1241 Skirmunt defeated Tatar troops of "tsar" Balaklay and killed the "tsar" himself.
Ginwill (Kginwil, Jurij, ? – 1199), Prince of Polatsk. He was married to Maryl, Princess of Tver.

8th generation
Skirmunt had five sons:

Giligin, Grand Prince of Lithuania and Ruthenia.
Treniota (Troniata), Prince of Navahradak, Grand Prince of Lithuania (1263–1264). Historically attested figure.
Lubort, Prince of Karachev.
Pisimont, Prince of Turow.
Trabus, Grand Prince of Samogitia.
Ginwill had one son:

Borys II Połocki, Prince of Polatsk

9th generation
Giligin had two sons:

Wolk or Roman of Ruthenia (Wid, ? – 1270), Grand Prince of Lithuania, Samogitia and Ruthenia.
Erden

10th generation
Wolk had five sons:

Traidenis (Troyden; ? - 1281), Prince of Yotvingians, Doynowsk, Grand Prince of Lithuania (1269–1281). Historically attested figure.
Narymont, Prince of Navahradak, Utena, Kernavė, Grand Prince of Lithuania and Samogitia.
Daumantas (Dowmont; ? – 1285), Prince of Utena, Pskov (1265–1285), Polatsk (1281–1285), Grand Prince of Lithuania (1281–1285). Historically attested figure.
Holszan, Prince of Halshany, legendary ancestor of Olshanski princely family
Giedrus, Prince of Giedraičiai, legendary ancestor of Giedraičiai family

11th generation: beginnings of the Gediminids
Traidenis had two sons:

Butigeidis (Budzikid), Grand Prince of Lithuania (1285–1291). Historically attested figure, the first known member of Gediminids dynasty.
Butvydas (Pukuwer, Pukuveras, Liutauras; ? – 1296), Grand Prince of Lithuania (1291–1296). Historically attested figure, direct ancestor of the Gediminids.
